My sympathies for the obviously Fauxified email cynic friend in my morning inbox:

Well,( least some say I am a cynic )
we have had 112 days of chem - spraying,
112 days of no rain,
I have been running the a/c since Feb. 1
((did I mention there have been 2 emergency electric rate increases this year, largest nuclear generating station in the world west of Phoenix and the electric company is going to have to shut it’s doors due to the price of propane ))
this winter, more days the atmosphere has failed clean air standards than the last 5 years combined,
the wild fires have already started here in Arizona, oh . . . all you heard about was “California “,no they are here too.
but is that enough ,no
news this morning is stating stock up on food,water, and cold medication.
The pandemic is here, now, no waiting . . .we are all going to die.
Just wanted to let you know in case you never hear from me again.
Thank you President Clinton for your desire to pocket 3 trillion dollars from social security into the federal coffers
as people die too soon to collect it.
No sense wasting that money on the people that deserve it.
Don’t mind me I am delirious, feel a touch of “flu ” coming on.

I recall Santayana’s famous quote “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. We fought valiantly in WWII to stop fascism - and now we’re getting knee deep into it in the US.
We need to stop it ASAP. It is not business as usual and I think the Dems need to drop all pretenses and come out swinging, more public figures like Feingold, Hackett, Dean and even Al Gore, who has all of sudden become a firebrand on the stump.
The rest of us need to do all we can to try to educate everyone. Obviously millions of Americans are clinically brain dead and we need to revive them any way we can.

I am so proud of Feingold, my Senator from Wisconsin…I rarely have to push him to do the appropriate thing, we’re usually on the same page….
He’d be a President American can be proud of…

Lisa is right. We are headed straight into the bowels of a fascist dictatorship. I can’t believe the Democrats aren’t doing all they can to stop it. Sometimes I wonder if it is all a facade of democracy, instead of the real thing, and if most of our politicians in Washington are all in on the joke. Or is it that they are just too scared to fight back? It takes a lot of guts to fight against the status qou. I signed Feingold’s petition. I only wish I could do more. It scares me to see where this country is headed. It is like Lisa said, we are knee deep in fascism around here. I hope the Democrats show some courage and put on the brakes before we drowned in it.

Static Brain, the one ray of hope is that along with an increasing amount of Dems beginning to tell it like it is, a few moderate republicans are beginning to seriously question the Busheviks, and a lot of people see the republican fracturing.
If we can’t put a stop to their massive voter fraud and manipulation though I’m not sure what we can do short of drastic measures.
I know one thing; I have a renewed respect for Eisenhower, who saw this coming over 40 years ago.
